SOBRE is an annual academic journal that explores the relationship between artistic and architectural practices and the ways they are communicated, distributed, and thought through editorial media. Developed by the SOBRE_Lab research group at the University of Granada, the journal offers a platform for dialogue between research, artistic practice, and critical reflection.
SOBRE N07 is dedicated to performance, understood as a practice grounded in co-presence: a situated encounter between bodies, time, and spectatorship. In a historical moment marked by social distancing and fractured interpersonal relations, this monographic revisits the cultural, political, and economic centrality of physical presence in contemporary art.
Through a constellation of research articles, case studies, and editorial projects, this issue engages with the tension between ephemerality and documentation, the interdisciplinary nature of performative practices, and the shifting conditions of production and presentation in contemporary aesthetics.
